Nobody knows who still holds a key to their new house.

It is one of the first uneasy thoughts a new owner has, usually on the first night. The previous owners had keys cut. So did a cleaner, a neighbour, a tradesperson, an agent.

The moment

A question that occurs to everyone, once

Changing the locks is close to the only job on this list that a new mover thinks about unprompted, and they think about it early. Settlement hands over a set of keys and no record at all of how many others exist.

But it is also the job most likely to be put off, because it feels like an errand rather than an emergency. A letter in the first week catches it at exactly the point where the thought has occurred and nothing has been done about it, which is the only moment a locksmith can realistically be chosen in advance rather than in a crisis.

the first nights

what they are deciding

  • Whether to rekey or replace the locks entirely
  • How secure the doors and windows actually are
  • Who to call when someone is locked out at eleven at night

None of it is settled yet. Somebody gets to be first.

The offer

What your letter actually says.

Your welcome letter

You will never know how many keys to this house are out there, so we will rekey the doors at a neighbour's price.

Discounted rekey, all external doors

Offers that work for locksmiths

You choose the offer and we design the card around it. These are the shapes that tend to earn a first visit from someone who has nothing to compare you to yet.

  • A discounted rekey of all external doors
  • A free security check of doors and windows
  • A deadlock supplied and fitted at a set price

Examples, not a menu. Anything you can honour at the counter can go on the card.

Fair questions

What locksmiths ask us first.

Because emergency work is won by whoever is top of the search results at the moment of panic, which is expensive and never yours to keep. A rekey booked calmly in week one puts your magnet on the fridge, and the fridge is where people look when they are locked out at eleven at night.

Letters go to bought and rented homes alike, and a renter cannot rekey without permission. Plenty still act on a security check, and many are buying within a few years. If you would rather concentrate on owners, say so when you enquire and we will scope the suburbs with that in mind.

Other trades

A suburb holds one of each.

Holding Locksmith in a suburb does not stop anybody else holding theirs. These are the neighbours you would share a letter round with, never the competition.
