Be the cafe they walk to on their first Saturday.

A coffee order is the fastest habit a new mover forms and the slowest one they break. The cafe that gets there first is usually still getting the order two years later.

One cafe per suburb · free to check

The moment

Coffee is decided before the boxes are unpacked

Almost nothing else on a new mover's list gets settled as quickly. They are surrounded by cardboard, the kettle is packed somewhere, and within a day or two they walk out looking for somewhere close that does a decent flat white.

Whichever cafe they find that morning gets tried. If it is good, it stops being a choice and becomes a routine, and routines in a suburb are remarkably durable. That entire decision usually happens before a single one of your competitors knows the household exists.

what they are deciding

  • Which cafe is the walkable one
  • Whether the coffee is worth repeating
  • Where to take visiting family on a Sunday

The offer

What your letter actually says.

Your welcome letter

There is a coffee waiting for you around the corner whenever you are ready.

Offers that work for cafes

You choose the offer and we design the card around it. These are the shapes that tend to earn a first visit from someone who has nothing to compare you to yet.

  • First coffee on the house
  • Free pastry with any coffee, first visit
  • Two coffees for the price of one, any morning this month

Examples, not a menu. Anything you can honour at the counter can go on the card.

Why it works

Feels like a welcome. Tracks like a campaign.

Fair questions

What cafes ask us first.

It is not the coffee that does the work, it is the timing. You are reaching someone who has no local cafe yet and is actively looking for one, which is a very different proposition to discounting for a customer who already has a favourite. The offer is simply the reason to walk in the first time.

No. Cafe is a single place on the register for each suburb, and while you hold it no other cafe can be on a welcome letter there. A gym or a dentist can hold the same suburb, but they are not competing with you for the morning order.

Other trades

A suburb holds one of each.

Holding Cafe in a suburb does not stop anybody else holding theirs. These are the neighbours you would share a letter round with, never the competition.
